Swan-song masterpieces are all too commonly claimed in this age of endangered ICE's, imposed electrification and impending autonomous transportation (heavens help us all). If Aston Martin have a (sub $4m) deserved sign off to the V12, the DBS 770 Ultimate lives up to the pressure and claim.
With production limited to just 300 specimens, only a single handful making it to our shores, we can hand on heart say, in our humble opinions, this is the most beautiful car gracing our roads today. Improving the already gorgeous lines of the DBS, the 770 Ultimate has been gifted extended carbon artistry both inside and out. The latter carbon work can be enjoyed through a bespoke and more muscular clam shell hood (a work of art in itself), side skirts and revised front and rear aero fandangles whilst the interior is graced by nothing short of amazingly presenting carbon race seats, softened with the oxford tan hides.
The power steering and overall feel have been significantly improved through Aston engineering wizardry. Similarly, the gearbox settings have taken a huge leap forward across all 3 settings (GT, Sport and Sport+) to allow performance and comfort at all levels of right foot enthusiasm. Be it a weekend getaway across rural roads or turning the wick up on track to enjoy all 770 horsepower, the Ultimate is set to deliver accordingly.
With an enviable options list with all the must-have’s secured, such as the Bang & Olufsen Beosound ($18k), 4 way carbon seats, extensive carbon fibre pieces and panels inc roof, diamond turned wheels (Victor inspired) and the all important (and over priced) Aston Martin umbrella in boot.
Presented in a timeless hue of Aston Racing Green (think Aston F1 race colour) over glorious extended oxford tan leather, it is hard to imagine a better specification for what we think is an automotive artwork set to deliver both emotional and financial performance.
