1972 911T

As far as enduring icons go, in the Automotive world, the 911 stands out as the king of them all. We don’t need to go into all the details and the history of the 911, so for this very special car, we’ll get straight to the point.

Beginning life as a standard 1972 911T, the car we present here has undergone such extensive changes that it remains a 911T only in model designation and basic body shell. With the same owner for just on 20 years now, this car has been continuously campaigned, raced and developed into one of the best driving early series 911s we’ve ever driven. Used as a pure race car for many years, from 2016 onwards the owner went through a significant expense to convert the car back to road use. Every single high-end brand part you can imagine has gone into this car over many years of testing and tweaking and changing to finally end up with the raucous 2.7L twin-plug RS case engine the car currently has.

Most recently, in 2020 the car was completely stripped to bare metal and resprayed plus the engine completely refreshed and the MFI system set-up perfectly so the car is at its absolute best again. Further to this, the interior was stripped out at the same time and completely gone through end to end. This bill for the work in 2020 totalled some $113,000, and thats not including the value of the engine alone which is estimated to have cost upwards of $70,000 to piece together as it sits now. With a huge history file showing every dollar spent (the seller estimates well over $300,000 under his ownership), all the hard work tweaking and fettling has been done so that this car is ready to be used as a fast road car and also a full track-day car. Also installed at great expense is fully adjustable Elephant suspension all round with just about everything you can think of being adjustable and fully set up by professional race car suspension specialistsRunning on full NSW registration its a serious piece of kit and most definitely not for someone who wants to punt around between cafes on the weekend. This is a car that needs driving commitment and revels in the use of revs and fast paced use.

With over 230hp and just over 1000kg to push around, plus the incredible suspension and steering set-up, it’s a VERY rapid 911 and one of the most pure driving cars out there. There is so much to list on the works carried out on this car we simply don’t have the space to cover it.

We encourage anyone interested to get in touch with us and make a time to view this incredible car.
