Performance is derived from its 3.3 litre air-cooled turbocharged six-cylinder rear mounted engine which produces an output of 221 kW/296 hp at 5,500 rpm and maximum torque of 430 Nm at 4,000 rpm. 0-100 km/h is achieved in just 5.4 secs with a top speed of over 260 km/h…Seriously impressive figures for the era.
In its last production year of 1989, the 930 got the G50 5-speed gearbox and is the reason why the 930's produced in 1989 are the most sought after and incredibly rare. The five-speed gearbox makes better use of the explosive power of the Turbo and had a far superior shift quality and power handling capability that the previous gearbox.
This stunning 1989 Turbo Targa G50 is 1 of only 23 ever delivered in the UK and has just 36,386 miles (58,217 kilometres) on the odometer. Specified in the iconic colour combination of Guards Red over a black leather interior, it was supplied new by Glen Henderson Porsche of Edinburgh in February 1989, and comes with its history file, including the handbook pack and spare keys.

Prior to being imported by its current custodian in October 2020, this was one of just 14 Porsche G50 Turbo Targas that remained registered for use in the UK, and as Australian Turbo sales ended in 1985 due to emission controls, most likely the only G50 Turbo Targa in Australia today. These special 911 Turbo Targas are now viewed as iconic 1980’s “bedroom wall” supercars, and they continue to excite enthusiasts and collectors all over the world.
In December 2020, the Turbo Targa underwent a post import inspection and major service with Sydney Porsche specialists Autohaus Hamilton at a cost of over $8,500 and is in perfect ready-to-enjoy condition as befitting a 930 turbo with such low kilometres.
