HSVs may have become synonymous with prowling suburban streets, but the Holden Special Vehicles story began with the VL SS Group A “Walkinshaw” homologation model. It featured the high-output 340kW 6.2-litre LS3 found in the Series 1 ClubSport R8 SV and, with its dark-themed forged 20-inch alloy wheels, the Track Edition copped handling updates, sticky Continental tyres, and also the massive six-piston/four-piston AP Racing brakes from the flagship GTS sedan.

Boasting less than 30,000km from new this one-owner Nitrate Silver-over-black example presents in excellent condition. With only 150 Track Edition VF2 HSVs built, and the soaring prices being paid for late-model special edition HSVs, the last high-output NA HSV stands to be prudent buying.
